The price that Okonkwo pays for being gone away for so long is that Umoufia has found someone else to believe in.While he was gone missionaries came and began to change the lives of people.People were beginning to believe in the missionaries. The missionaries had tooken the place of Okonkwo.People were not the same when Okonkwo returned.

When Okonkwo returned to Umoufia people were totally different.Well except for his clansmen that were still on his side.People didnt look to him as a great warrior anymore. They were focusing on God and what the missionaries were telling them. And trying to live a good life.

Okonkwo was not happy of the things that were happening. He was found of the missionaries either. He even at one point wanted to kill them. But he didnt, because the people of Umoufia might come together and retalliate. And he didnt want that to happen.

The price that okonkwo had paid for being away from his clan. Is that first off the clan had become softer. Also more of the people of his clan had become part of the Christian religion. Also when the people of the clan some work on their farm in the morning and go to school in the afternoon. Also when that happens more of the people go goes to the church school either become teachers or doctors.

Also the implication of okonkwos alienation to his fathers clan in relationship to the way in which he and other clan men feel about the missionaries. Is that the clan had started to open up to the missionaries. They had more missionary friends. Also how okonkwo felt about the missionaries is even though okonkwo regretted the seven year exile he still felt the same about the missionaries.

Also the price that okonkwo has faced is really that the people of his clan will not reunite anymore. The reason was that since okonkwos exile their have not been a lot of the get together. For example okonkwos son nwoye had decided to change what he believed in for good. Nwoye has even changed his name to Isaac. For the new training college for teachers in umuru.

The price that Okonkwo had to pay by being away is that someone else rose and filled it.The meaning of the clan being like a lizard with the tail is when if the leader have gone away of disappeared someone will fill his spot.Okonkwo had lost his place among the nine masked spirits who administerd justice in the clan,he lost the chance to lead his warlike clan against a new religion, which he was told, had gained ground. He had lost the years in which he might have taken the highest title in the clan.

Okonkwo spoke violently to his clansmen when they had met in the marketplace to decide on their action. And the haed listed to him with respect. It was like the good old days again, when a warrior was a warrior.Although they had not agreed to kill the missionary or drive away the Christians, they had agreed to dosomething substantial. And they had done it.Okonkwo was almost happy again.

In conlusion the lizard may lose its tail, but it later takes time. But in the story the man who took Okonkwo's spot needed to earn that oppurtunity to have it.Okonkwo beat the greatest wrestler in all nine villages. In order to become the best you got to beat the best, but you need to defeat the last opponents of the best in order to know what you are up against.

The price that Okonkwo pays for being gone way for so long was that they found someone else to believe in. The missionaries started to tell them things that the people never believe in before. Umoufia forgot everything about Okonkwo. But when he came back everybody was mad.

People started acting different like they could care less about Okonkwo. They was so interseted in their god and being good people. To them they push Okonkwo out of the idea of being an warrior.

He really wanted to kill the missionaries but he couldn't of the people turn against him. He was really upset of what was going on. He felt as if no one actually didn't really care anymore and that he wasn't an hero to them anymore. I think that he felt as if he if he hadn't to been sent away for seven whole years that everything would be the same again.

The price Okonkwo paid for being gone for so long was that things in his clan stated to change. What I mean is before Okonkwo had left things in Umoufia was the same. But over the time of Okonkwo’s exile things started to change. The missionaries came to Umoufia, and build schools for the little boys and girls of Umoufia.

Also the missionaries build church for the new religion. That was much a punch in the face to Okonkwo, Because even went the missionaries come to Mbanta( his motherland). His believe that his people in Umoufia would never fall for that, and so when that did its broken Okonkwo’s heart.

Okonkwo’s clansman feel at first that the missionaries are being rude and crazy. By the way that spoke about there Gods like nothing. But over time the missionaries grow on Okonkwo’s clansmen and started to believe in The new religion and the new god.

The price that Okonkwo pays for being gone to long form Umoufia is that the missionaries took over his clan. His clan had changed completely from when he was the top dog in the clan. Okonkwos people also changed their religion to the Christian religion and got over Igbo. His people didn’t believe in what he believed in, and the missionaries took over the clan completely and everyone forgot Okonkwo was a strong warrior. His people began to go to school and learn, they framed in the morning and study at school in the afternoon.

The implication of Okonkwo alienation to his fathers clan in relationship to the way in which he and other clan men feel about the missionaries. The clan was able to learn about something new and experience a new belief with the missionaries religion. Okonkwo hated the missionaries for changing his clan and felt angry at himself for killing someone in his clan and leaving for seven years. Okonkwo is now a man that no one should be intimidated by anymore because he is a nobody in the clan.

Okonkwo also paid the price is by losing his son Nwoye for good and who know when he is going back to Okonkwos side. In the story it said that Nwoye really liked the Christian religion and liked the church that was build at the evil forest. Nwoye got away from the Igbo religion to the Christian religion for good. Nwoye even went to college and changed his name to Isaac for training in umuru.

"The Clan was like a lizard; if it lost its tail it soon grew another." So being that Okonkwo was gone for so long, someone else had rose along and took his spot. While he was gone mostly everything had changed. The missionaries had took over. No one was the same anymore because of them.

The implication of Okonkwos alienation to his fathers clan in relationship to the way in which he and other clan men feel about the missionaries, is that the clan had started to open up to the missionaries more than how they use to be. They had more missionary friends. Also how Okonkwo felt about the missionaries is even though Okonkwo regretted the seven year exile he still felt the same about the missionaries.

To conclude this, I think that just because Okonkwo has left for seven years doesnt mean that someone should take his spot. Or even if they just had someone substituting him that wouldve been better. So like when he come back he can get his spot back. I wouldve feel very disrespected if i was gone and someone else has gotten my spot. It would probably make you feel like everyone has forgotten you.

"The Clan was like a lizard; if it lost its tail it soon grew another." Okonkwo paid a price by being away from his clan for so long. Okonkwo after seven years longed for the respect of his clan. but over the time of Oknokwo’s exile things in umoufia had changed. Okonkwo had lost his place ,he lost the chance to lead his warlike clan because of the new religion, which had gained ground. The clan being like a lizard with its tail is like when someone like a leader or clansmen has gone away or disappeared and then someone will fill that spot.

Okonkwo had spoken to his clansmen furiously when they had met in the marketplace to decide on their action against the missionaries. Okonkwo was glad that he finally had a position of respect when everyone listened to him. Even though they did not agree to kill the missionaries and drive them away ,they had agreed to do something about the situation. Even though they didn’t do exactly what he wanted Okonkwo was glad they were taking action. But that didn’t change the fact that umoufia had changed and the missionaries were getting stronger

In conclusion, Okonkwo felt replaced by the missionaries and their new religion and his return from exile was of no importance to his clan. "The Clan was like a lizard; if it lost its tail it soon grew another." The clan is a lizard if it lost someone like Okonkwo something else would take his place like the new religion did. After such a long exile Okonkwo expected much more from his clansmen for his return he wanted to be well received but no one really noticed. The umoufia he was knew was lost and Okonkwo felt lost as well.

The narrator states: “The clan was like a lizard; if it lost its tail it soon grew another.” Okonkwo has paid a price for being away from his clan. He knows what he has lost. He lost his chance. His losses were not irreparable.

“A man’s place was not always there waiting for him.” As soon as Okonkwo left, someone took his place. Okonkwo was paying a price for being away from his clan. It would take a long time for Okonkwo to go back to his place in the clan. Also he lost seven years in which he could of taken the highest title in the clan.

Okonkwo lost a great chance. He lost the chance to lead his warlike clan against the new religion. Now there was no way he could fight back against the missionaries. He was told this new religion gained ground. In other words took over Umuofia.

"The Clan was like a lizard; if it lost its tail it soon grew another." i believe that basically mean like if a president of ones company dies or is injured during that time the vive president fills in and take over.in this story okonkwo left his clan.nd the missionaries took over.

When the missionaries took over they change everything. But first the clan had to make sure they were right for leting them take over, they made the missionaries convince them that they were right. Meanwhile the missionaries changed so much that when oknonkwo returned everything was brand new to him. his clan didnt even look at him as a worrior anymore. so they didn't reunite again.

I believe okonkwo felt forgotten. through those seven years what he built was now destroyed.

In chapter 20 Umofia was compared to a lizard. "The clan was like a lizard;if it lost its tail it soon grew another. The perspective I obtained was that "You snooze, you lose." According to the book it's indicated as "A man's place was not always there, waiting for him. As soon as he left, some one else rose and filled it." While in extilee, the missionaries had taken over his clan. Brainwashing them to change their religion.

The price Okonkwo had to pay was having to abide with the fact that he had lost his position among those who administered the clan. Within the seven years that he was absent, Umofia changed greatly. The church had came and convinced many leading them astray. They also brought a goverment, and created prisons. Okonkwo felt perplexd. He asked "But i can't understand these things you tell me," Okonkwo said in his confabulation with Obierika, "Why have they lost the power to fight back?"

The connection of Okonkwo's alienation to his fathers clan in to which they all felt about the missionaries are cognate. They agreed that the Abame people were foolish. They feel that the missionaries hav succeded in a way when it comes to prospering their population religion wise. Though there are still some who oppose them, it was said that "Our own men and sons have joined the ranks of the stranger."

I believe that Okonkwo pays for being gone away for so long from Umoufia is that they have found some one who they believe in . Sine he was gone he didn’t know what was going on so while he wasn’t there the missionaries began to change the lives of the umoufia people. Mostly everything was different from when okonkwo was there until he’s return.

In the text it states “The clan was like a lizard if it lost its tail it soon grew another .” He soon paid the price for being away so long . It was about seven years and his clan basically lost the respect they had for okonkwo. He also lost his chance to lead his war like clan because the new religion in which had grew. They did like any other clan would do and find a new leader which is like the quote states a new tail.

In conclusion he lost every thing hes worked for . Basically every thing hes worked for being known as a great leader and a good war fighter and a strong man was gone to waste as soon as he left . They changed completely almost forgetting about him and moving on .

Okonkwo was a person that spoke violently not caring about what he said or might have happened. Also the implication was when the other clan men felt about the missionaries. They had more missionary friends. Also how Okonkwo felt about the missionaries is when Okonkwo had regretted the 7 year exile. But he still felt the same way about the missionaries.

He was not happy about the things thhat were happening. He even at one point in the story as I read on said he wanted to kill the missionaries. But he didnt go through with the plan cause he thought the people of Umuofia were going to retaliate. But okonkwo didnt want that to happen.

When Okonkwo was away he paid a prince to watch over Umofia had gain the villeger respect and power. while he was gone he had no power to stop the missonaries from comeing in and changing there lives.everything was different from when okonkwo was there until he’s return.

therefor, the implication of okonkwos alienation to his fathers clan in relationship to the way in which he and other clan men feel about the missionaries. The clan had started to open up to the missionaries. If Okonkwo was there in this power he would have told them not to. They had more missionary friends. In the story “Things fall apart,” Okonkwo had paid a big price for being removed from Umofia for seven years. Okonkwo knew that he had lost his spot in his place among the nine masked spirits. He had also lost his spot to lead his clan against the new religion. One other thing Okonkwo lost out in was taking some of the highest titles in the clan. When Okonkwo would return he wanted to make up for the seven years that was wasted.

Since Okonkwo had left Umofia a lot of things had changed. Many people were changing their religion to Christian. Okonkwo did not like this at all. He even told his sons “if anyone wants to follow Nwoye let him do so now while I am alive so that I can curse them.” Okonkwo believed that if someone’s son did not follow the footsteps of their father they were considered as a woman. People of high ranks were even changing their religion to Christianity such as Ogbuefi Ugonna.

Many people in Umofia were upset with the missionaries. The missionaries came out of nowhere and started changing people’s religion. The missionaries even began building jails on the land. People would be put in the jail if they had been doing something against the white man’s law. As you can see the missionaries were making people in Umofia extremely upset. The Umofian people wanted the missionaries out as soon as possible.

In chapter 10 "The Clan was like a lizard; if it lost its tail it soon grew another." I think that, that quote was specifically meant for Okonkwo. Really they are saying, so what if a great man (Okonkwo) leaves, there are other and he really didnt mean anything to us so oh well. They are saying what is the benifit of him.
Okonkwo miss out alot. He paid a big price while he was out. He had lost his spot in his place among the nine masked spirits, he had lost his spot to lead his clan against the new missionarie. He also lost taking some of the highest titles in the clan. i bet he felt real depress of that. Also wrestling other people.

Okonkwo was a violent man. Okonkwo was a person that spoke violently not caring about what he said. He also didnt care of what would happen. All he like was violence. Especially because he was a violent man. Okonkwo wasnt a fan of the clan when he came back. I bet he was ready to "tussel"

The story "Things Fall Apart" in Chapter 20, the narrator states, "The clan was like a lizard ; if it lost its tall it soon grow another." I think that means that the clan lost Okonkwo & they goota get another "person" to replace him until he comes back from his exile. I think the clan has to be complete. If not, the clan wouldn't be complete. Thats cool in some way.

The price Okonkwo has paid by being away from his clan for a long time is his harvesting stuff. He hasn't harvested stuff because of him being away from his clan. Harvesting is an important part & he probally had "forqot" how to do it. And he done don't remember how to be apart of the clan because he been away so long. Thats not good at all.

The implication of Oknokwos alienation to his father's clan in realtionship in which he & other clanmens feel about the missionaires is the same because they hated the missionaires like they "hated" Okonkwo. They felt the exact same way for both. Thats a "good" realationship between them. I think they dislike Okonkwo more than the missionaires. But I don't know why. Thats the relationship between Okonkwo alientation from the other clansmen felt abot the missionaires.

Umoufia was compared to a lizard in chapter twenty, the narrator states, “The clan was like a lizard; if it lost its tail it soon grew another.” The quote simply means that once Okonkwo left his clan behind they found another leader to lead them. The clan thought Okonkwo left them behind so they went on without him. The only problem is that when he left, he became less of a man.

In the text it says, “As the years of exile passed one by one it seemed to him that his chi might now be making amends for the past disaster. His yams grew abundantly, not only in his motherland but also in Umoufia, where his friend gave them out year by year to sharecroppers.” What makes him less of a man to me is that he forgot his homeland but stayed at the motherland. I find him being less of a man because he continued to think about his home but didn’t do anything about it. He just continued to gaze about what he’s missing there instead of going back there. Usually Okonkwo would do whatever he want to do, he wanted to go back but didn’t which makes him less of a man. So the price he had to pay due to his absence he lost his clans trust and his manhood.

Okonkwo and his clan didn’t want anything to do with the missionaries due to the way they disrespected their beliefs. His fathers clan wouldn’t really feel much due to no title which means their not real men. This brings me to my point if Okonkwo felt a bad vibe towards the missionaries before his exile why do he feel the way he fell. Since he left he regretted everyday of his exile.
